Oh there’s no place like Harvesters for the Holidays! The holidays are such a special time, regardless of how you choose to celebrate. This holds true for the and 1 in 11 people or 1 in 8 children facing food insecurity in our service area. During a season filled with giving, please don’t forget to include them on your holiday list. There is no shortage of ways to give back whether it’s gifts of food, time, or money, your gift will truly impact the lives of our neighbors.

Many of our fondest holiday memories are made around a festive meal. For thousands of families in our area, a holiday meal and tableside memories are not certain. Help us provide the comforts and trimmings of a holiday meal by packing a Harvesters Holiday Box!
Help us nourish hungry families, children and seniors! Every donation makes a great impact. You can donate in the barrels at your local HyVee, Price Chopper or Dillons, store, or you can bring items to either Harvesters location. Here is a list of the most requested items.
We can’t fight hunger without your help! Volunteers are vital to fulfilling our mission of feeding hungry people today and working to end hunger tomorrow. Grab a friend and help at one of our warehouses, mobile distributions or with one of our agency partners! Sign up now!
Celebrate your family, friends and co-workers by sending a heartfelt gift that also helps local families – Harvesters’ Recipes for Hope! These special holiday tributes feature festive greetings and a delicious recipe from from a local chef. We can even sign and address them for you if you order by December 18! Every gift, large or small, helps make it possible for families share a meal together this holiday season. A child to focus in school, for a mom to make it through her night shift and pay her family’s bills, and for a senior citizen to avoid life-threatening illnesses. Your generosity can transform lives.

Help feed a local family or senior this holiday season by adding $1, $5, $10 or $20 to your grocery bill at the register. Every dollar donated helps provide 2 meals! You can also donate nonperishable food items in the Harvesters barrels on your way out of the store.

Crate & Barrel invites customers to donate at the register and online. 100% of funds raised in-store will benefit the food banks where the purchase was made. Additionally, Crate & Barrel will donate $10 from every purchase of the Papa Leo’s Past Ornament set to Feeding America. Learn more now!

Make a difference while enjoying a great tasting sub! Jersey Mike’s will be donating 20% of all restaurant sales made on November 18 and 19 to fight hunger! Feeding America will do a 90/10 split between benefiting food banks serving participating restaurant zip codes and Feeding America National Office. The Kansas City Royals are collecting turkeys, nonperishible food items and toiletries in partnership with The Know Joey? Foundation for youth and families in urban Kansas City. Donations can be dropped off at the Urban Youth Academy on Tuesday, November 21. Help bring hope to the holidays and spread smiles beyond the aisles by purchasing Holiday Hope Bags at your local Hy-Vee store. Each bag is $10 and includes everything needed to make traditional holiday side dishes, and will be delivered back to Harvesters to be given to a local family in time for the holidays. The Canadian Pacifiic Holiday Train is back for its 25th year supporting food banks and food shelves across our network by raising money, food and awareness for food insecurity issues. Come see the holiday train, enjoy a concert and participate in family friendly activities. Everyone is encouraged to bring a monetary or nonperishable food donation.
