Or bring 5 items the weekend of September 28-29 and receive $5 off admission!
Stand with Harvesters by wearing orange today to show your support for hunger relief. Encourage your family and friends to spread the word and take action too by posting pictures and using #HungerActionDay on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
September is Ceramic Cafe's "Give Back" month. They are inviting schools to a friendly competition. For every 3 cans of food donated or believe mug painted, one point will be earned for your school. The school with the most points will earn $200 for their school's art department. Ceramic Cafe is located at 9510 Nall Ave., Overland Park, KS 66207. The Market Square Carnival in Leawood will be a day of fun and activities for both parents and kids. Families will get a chance to play fun, carnival-style games, win prizes, play in the bounce house and visit with a professional balloon artist. Attendees are encouraged to make a cash or card monetary donation to Harvesters.
Chef Michael Smith, executive chef-partner of Farina, and Nancy Smith, partner, general manager and wine director, will host a Brancaia Italian Wine Dinner to benefit the NFL's annual Kick Hunger campaign. Partial proceeds from this dinner will benefit Harvesters. The dinner is Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 6:30 p.m. at Michael Smith Private Dining & Events, 1900 Main St., Kansas City, Mo. The cost is $75 per person plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required. Please call 816.842.2205 to make your reservation.
On this special Sunday shift, Harvesters will be open so volunteers can sort and repackage donated product in our Volunteer Engagement Center. Volunteers must be eight years or older to participate; students 15 years old and younger need to be accompanied by an adult. Families are welcome, but please remember to register each member who will be volunteering. Click here for more information and shift times.
