Agency Distribution

Together, Our Impact is Big

Harvesters fulfills its mission of feeding hungry people by working with an amazing network of more than 760 nonprofit partner agencies.

As a food bank, we do not provide direct services to hungry families and seniors. We acquire, store and distribute food and household items to our network.

Our network is made up of a variety of organizations including food pantries, community kitchens, shelters, children’s homes, schools, churches, community centers, health clinics, libraries and others. These agencies distribute groceries and meals directly to those in need.

During fiscal year 2021, Harvesters’ agencies helped Harvesters distribute more than 76 million pounds of food, providing more than 67 million meals.

Organizations must meet these basic criteria to join Harvesters’ network:

  • Applicants must operate within Harvesters’ 26-county service area.
  • Applicants must have a 501(c)3 tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service.
  • Meet minimum requirements for number of people served each month (varies according to program)
  • Meet minimum requirements for months in operation (varies according to program)

If an agency is within five miles of another agency operating a similar outreach program, Harvesters suggests the agencies collaborate to better serve the community with a team effort. The applying agency may or may not be approved if providing the same service in close proximity to an existing member agency.
