Missouri Updates

May 5, 2025 Update
The Missouri Legislature is still in session. The updates from last month’s report still stand. In June, we’ll provide a wrap up for Missouri.
April 2, 2025 Update
IIn partnership with Feeding Missouri, Harvesters is monitoring and supporting bills that would fully opt Missouri out of the lifetime ban on SNAP for those with a drug related felony. Additionally, we are monitoring bills related to the food pantry tax credit, universal school meals, reduced-price co-pays and eliminate the state-level food sales tax. Finally, SNAP choice restriction bills have also been introduced, and we are working with our partners to oppose these.

Modifies provisions related to the food pantry tax credit HB 324 , HB 326 , HB 828, SB 67 ,
Improves access to School Meals: HB 112 , HB 285, HB 873, HB 998, SB 172, SB 131, SB 802
Eliminates the state food sales tax SB 734, SB 688, SB 57, SB 659, HB 1587, HB 872, HB 432, HB 345
Oppose:
Prohibits the use of SNAP benefits to purchase certain foods HB 1222, SB 662
Prohibits temporary assistance for needy families HB 315

February 26, 2025 Update
In partnership with Feeding Missouri, Harvesters is monitoring and supporting HB 916, which would fully opt Missouri out of the lifetime ban on SNAP for those with a drug related felony. Additionally, we are monitoring bills related to the food pantry tax credit, universal school meals, and reduced-price copays. Finally, SNAP choice restriction bills have also been introduced, and we are working with our partners to oppose these.
