Federal Updates

We are working closely with Feeding America to monitor threats to federal nutrition programs and will be participating in an advocacy fly in early March. The first item of significant concern includes funding freezes, while the OMB (Office of Management and Budget) grant freeze memo was rescinded, we did learn the administration froze funds approved by the previous administration back in October through the Commodity Credit Corporation. Those funds were for enhanced TEFAP food purchases ($500 million) and LFPA (the Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program) ($500 million).
