Why did you decide to become a monthly donor?

We were donors to a similar organization in the city we used to live in and have volunteered for Harvesters’ monthly food distribution events at our church. After seeing the quality of the organization firsthand coupled with the growing needs in the community, we decided that Harvesters should become one of our philanthropic priorities.

Harvesters is one of those great organizations that streamlines their staff and efforts, and utilizes a small army of volunteers to tackle their mission: to mobilize the power of our community to get food to hungry people and to attack the root causes and impact of hunger.

What was your favorite part of the tour?

Our favorite part of the tour was the people. The place has lots of volunteers and a very friendly (and very busy) staff. Also, the facility is big, very clean, and the organization is well-planned and implemented.

The minute we walked out, we agreed that we should increase our support.

Do you have a personal philosophy or mission to share?

We believe that we have been blessed beyond measure, and that we are here on this Earth to love and serve our fellow man. It is a simple fact that people cannot be a resource in their own or their community’s lives until they are fed.

P.S our tour guide (Krystalle Wheeler) was OUTSTANDING and a tremendous ambassador of the org and mission.
