Advocate

Empowering members of our community to rise above today and thrive tomorrow takes more than good food; it also requires advocating for policies and programs that reduce food insecurity in the long term.

What does it mean to advocate? It means to give voice to an issue. If you’re concerned about hunger, you can donate food or funds to Harvesters to ensure that your food insecure neighbors have a meal tonight. But you can also talk about the issue of hunger with your family, your neighbors, your colleagues, your elected officials. Help them better understand the scope of the issue and how it impacts not only individuals, but our community. Encourage them to help as well. Use your voice and help make a difference for people struggling with hunger so we can all embrace a healthier future for our community.
