Topeka Volunteer Keeps on Giving!
Sharon works in a school cafeteria serving meals to students. She began volunteering a year and a half ago with Harvesters at the suggestion of her boss. She enjoyed giving time with the other volunteers, who happened to be staff from surrounding schools.

Regina is Grateful for Your Support
Good, nutritious food is vital to Regina’s well-being. She has sickle cell anemia, a painful, genetic blood disorder that weakens her immune system. She relies on a small monthly disability check — and it doesn’t go very far, especially during the winter when high utility bills claim so much of her budget.

You're a Lifeline to Local Seniors
Kevin and his wife, Terri, are living out their golden years in Independence, Mo. After a serious motorcycle accident, Kevin had to retire early. Terri recently began treatment for breast cancer. Staying safely quarantined is especially important for the couple’s health.

Thank You for Helping Older Adults Thrive
Donna, 72, and her husband, 73, moved to Wabaunsee County, Kan., after they retired. They relocated from Kansas City to be closer to their son’s family. Making the small town of fewer than 500 residents home, also meant a more affordable cost of living compared to life in Kansas City.

We made it through a very challenging year and to those of you who gave food, time, or money to support our efforts in 2020, thank you! Harvesters and its network of partner agencies have distributed a record amount of food (more than 60 million pounds) since the pandemic began almost a year ago.
