There are many ways that families, organizations, faith-based groups and companies can make a difference by donating food to Harvesters. Hold a food and fund drive Sponsor a food and fund drive for Harvesters at your workplace, school, place of worship, neighborhood or civic organization. Collect our most needed items. Harvesters' Food Drive Kit will help you set it up and get started. For more information or to schedule your food drive, please contact Harvesters' Community Engagement Team or call toll-free 877.653.9517. UPDATE - Beginning January 1, 2021 for the safety of our volunteers and staff, Harvesters will no longer pick up food donations from residential locations. We ask that you please bring your donations to Harvesters or place them in the Harvesters barrels at your local grocery store. Start a Virtual Food Drive Expand your drive and make it mobile by hosting a fun, online Virtual Food Drive. To start your own Virtual Food Drive, click here and then click on "Form A Team". Your drive can be set up as a competition between teams, departments or branches and shared electronically with friends, co-workers or family by email or e-blast, on a website or social media. Every $1 donated helps Harvesters provide three meals in our community. Donate food today Donate food at our Kansas City or Topeka facilities during normal business hours. Look for our blue donation barrels in area grocery stores, including Price Chopper stores. Donate garden produce Plant an extra row for the hungry or donate excess garden produce to Harvesters’ Plant A Row for the Hungry program. During the growing season, donate fresh garden produce at participating garden centers. Food Industry Donations and Donation of Prepared Foods Find out how your company can make a food industry donation or a donation of prepared foods here. Cause Marketing Cause marketing, or cause-related marketing, is a potentially profit-making initiative by a for-profit company or brand to raise awareness, money and/or consumer engagements in a social or environmental issue. Harvesters—The Community Food Network is fortunate to have many cause-marketing partners who have helped to raise both funds and awareness to help fight hunger in our region. All businesses engaging in a Cause Related Marketing Campaign with Harvesters must sign an agreement that clarifies the campaign, goal, and action items.
