“We shop sales and try to keep the freezer stocked,” Kevin says. “We’re between a rock and a hard place.”
Kevin and his wife, Terri, are living out their golden years in Independence, Mo. But the past several months haven’t been so bright.
After a serious motorcycle accident, Kevin had to retire early. Terri recently began treatment for breast cancer, which puts her at increased risk for medical complications. Staying safely quarantined is especially important for the couple’s health.
Affording enough groceries has been a real challenge for the couple. They were excited to learn about Harvesters’ mobile distribution at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
“It’s just a bright spot in your day to see everyone out here helping others,” Kevin says.
We met him and Terri at the mobile food distribution — it was their first time ever reaching out for help with food. Kevin was excited to share his gratitude with the caring people who make food distributions like this one possible.
“A great big thank you for all the stuff you guys do because in these times of need it’s a blessing the way you help people,” he says.
Thank you for sharing hope with the people in our community who need it most! Please consider giving here.
