Lupe’s family means the world to her. She has 25 grandchildren — with her first great-grandbaby on the way — and spends most of her time these days caring for family.
It’s no surprise Lupe’s so devoted to her loved ones as she worked as a case manager in family support for more than three decades. Now in her golden years, she can’t help but continue supporting the well-being of others.
But, unfortunately, Lupe can’t always afford to take care of herself. She’s in a tight spot — her pension amount decreased, but her Social Security hasn’t kicked in yet. Between rent, winter utilities and other costs of living, sometimes healthy food just isn’t in the budget.
Lupe has peace of mind knowing she can count on her regular Harvesters Mobile Food Pantry, which distributes fresh produce and other nutritious foods at a local church.
“It’s fresh, and it helps a lot,” she says of the pantry.
So many people find themselves in Lupe’s position — just on the edge where paying for housing, prescriptions or bills means sacrificing groceries. Thanks to you, they have relief.
“I’m really grateful for this,” Lupe says. “God bless you.”
Having enough to eat seems so simple, but it couldn’t be more important to our neighbors’ good health and sense of security. Thanks to you, Harvesters’ clients like Lupe can access the nutrition they need. Please consider giving here.
