“Sometimes I only eat one meal a day,” Tammy says of her situation.
Adjusting to life on Social Security has been a challenge for her. Tammy spent her life doing hard labor at a factory and on her feet working at a restaurant, so it’s been tough on retirement to not have a job — or the same income.
There are many times Tammy has realized she doesn’t have enough money for groceries after paying bills on her limited fixed income. Winter has been especially tough as much of her monthly check goes to her gas bill.
Unfortunately, Tammy is experiencing medical issues in her older age and needs balanced meals on the table to support her health.
That’s why she’s so glad she found the food pantry at Renewed Hope Church, her local Harvesters partner agency, where she can pick up bags of fresh, nutritious food. Tammy has become an avid exerciser in recent years to stay healthy, and you’re helping fuel her active lifestyle.
She was excited to share her gratitude with caring people — like you — who help keep her kitchen stocked with wholesome groceries.
“Thank you — it’s a blessing,” Tammy says.
Your generosity helps make sure Tammy and her fellow seniors don’t have to miss meals to afford monthly expenses. You bring hope in the form of food to so many people! Please consider giving here.
