Canstruction is an annual event where teams of local architects and engineers use canned goods or other common grocery store items to build structures and put them on public display (see some of last year's structures below).
This year we want families in our community to take part in the building, so our architects and engineers have created designs for you to build a structure right at home! Each design contains items (50 or fewer) that you might already have in your pantry or you can find at your local Hy-Vee Store.
Choose the design you’d like to build, collect the necessary items, and follow the instructions to make it come to life. Please build your structure by January 3, 2021.
Once you’ve perfected your structure, post a photo on social media, tag Harvesters, and use the hashtag #HarvestersCanstruction for us to share.
Feeling extra creative? You can create your own original design instead of choosing from those provided!
Once you’re ready to de-construct your masterpiece, take the items you used to a Harvesters collection barrel at your local Hy-Vee.
Not only is building these structures fun for the whole family, but by participating, you can also help us feed hungry families, children, and seniors in our community. Once you’re ready to de-construct your masterpiece, just take the items you used to a Harvesters collection barrel located at your local Hy-Vee.
Take a look at the designs below, and happy building!
