Oak Park Mall
11149 W. 95th Street, Overland Park, KS
Join us for Canstruction Kansas City! See amazing structures built entirely out of canned food and other nonperishable items. Teams of Kansas City architects, engineers and contractors will compete against each other to create amazing structures. When the exhibit closes, the food is donated to Harvesters and is distributed to hungry families, children and seniors in our community.
Admission is FREE. The exhibit is located in the mall near the entrance to the south Dillard's.
Sculptures were judged in the following categories: Best Meal, Structural Ingenuity, Best Use of Labels, Jurors Favorite and Honorable Mention by a panel of judges. The six winning entries will represent Kansas City in the national Canstruction competition. The winners of the national competition will be selected and honored at the Society of Design Administration’s national meeting.
2017 winners are as follows:
Best Meal Award: “A BeaCan for Hunger” by Davidson Architecture & Engineering
