Volunteer Outreach Center |
The Volunteer Outreach Center is where volunteers sort and repackage food, and if you want to get involved with Harvesters, its a great place to start!
Volunteers in the VOC sort food and household items collected at food drives and donated by the food industry and help prepare them for distribution to our agencies. After undergoing safe food handling training, volunteers may also help repackage food or household items that were either received in bulk or damaged in shipment.
Celebrating a birthday? Let Harvesters host your birthday party in the VOC, and encourage your guests to bring non-perishable food items as gifts. After you take a tour of our operations and spend a few hours volunteering, Harvesters will provide a cake to top off your special day!
Harvesters can accommodate individuals, families, corporations, schools, faith-based groups and other organizations that are interested in volunteering. Check out the Frequently Asked Questions for information about VOC hours, age requirements and group sizes.
To get the ball rolling, submit a volunteer interest form and a Harvesters staff member will contact you about opportunities in the VOC.
PLEASE NOTE: Effective June 1, 2010, Harvesters' facilities are 100% smoke free. Smoking will not be permitted anywhere on our premises. Thank you for your cooperation.
