Ten of Kansas City's most talented chefs face off every year in a battle for the coveted Iron Fork. Loosely based on the Food Network's Iron Chef, Iron Fork is a light-hearted competition between local chefs that benefits Harvesters-The Community Food Network.

Competing chefs are presented with a box of pantry staples and one mystery ingredient, and have one hour to create an appetizing and healthy entree. The entrees are evaluated by a panel of judges from the food industry and media outlets.

In addition to viewing the competition, spectators can sample foods from some of Kansas City's favorite restaurants.

The winner of the 2006 Iron Fork was Will Norm, Hallbrook Country Club. Competitors included Ken Carpenter, Overland Park Convention Center; David Stevens, Sheraton Hotel; Tina Warford, Treat America; Dwight Hawkins, The Rozzelle Court at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art; Paul Santaularia and Marc Prece, Northland Career Center and AIPC; Gary Hild, Unity Village; David Kennedy, American Food and Vending; Michael Betlach, St. Joseph Medical Center; and Mark Webster, New Theatre Restaurant.
