Are you throwing away your chance to make a difference? Through Harvesters’ Food Rescue program, food that has been prepared but not served is picked up from organizations such as restaurants, corporate cafeterias and hospitals, and is delivered to area agencies with on-site feeding programs, including soup kitchens, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and senior and day care centers.

Participation in the Food Rescue program is quick, easy and tax-deductible. And the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act protects donors from civil and criminal liability when donations are made in good faith.

Harvesters provides storage containers, schedules pick-ups that don’t interrupt your business and provides a donation receipt. Then we’re out the door and on our way to deliver the food to those who are hungry in our community.

For more information about how to donate food from your restaurant, cafeteria or special event to Harvesters, contact Gary Wilk, product acquisition manager, at InfoRequest@harvesters.org.
